Playdough Recipe

Playdough
1 Cup Flour
1 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Salt (Kosher)
2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1 Tablespoon Canola Oil
Wax Paper
-Optional-
Food Coloring and sparkles

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a pot on the stove.

  2. Cook on low heat setting until the mixture is lumpy.

  3. Turn the dough out on wax paper.

  4. Knead when cool.

This dough has an excellent quality, keeps well and does not cumble.

Have fun!

(This particular playdough was made for Valentine's Day. I used a few drops of red food coloring to make it a light pink and added red sparkles to the mixture.)

Halloween Pumpkins

Have toddlers? Not ready to carve the pumpkin yet? Well then, lets paint them!
While the boys were picking up their toys so they could paint, I was getting all the of it ready;
  • Crayola Finger Paint (Washable - Non Toxic)
  • Foil
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Paint brushes

I line the cookie sheet with foil and then put almost a sand dollar amount ontop of the foil. Once I had the desired amout and colors I put the cookie sheet in the middle of the table for the boys with the paint brushes. They went to town! This kept them busy for almost an hour!

Finn's

Billy's

What I did with the left over paint that we weren't using (and since it was all combined together!) I got some white paper - cardstock works great because of its thickness and we all put our hands in and then did our handprints on the paper. Once they are dry I will put them in frames and hang it up :o)
Have fun!
